Toyota To Donate $1 Mln To Donald Trump's Inauguration: Reuters

Toyota Motor North America is reportedly pledging $1 million to support the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, as reported by Reuters. This announcement comes on the heels of similar pledges from Detroit-based automakers Ford Motor and General Motors, who revealed their donations a day earlier.

While Ford and General Motors are set to provide vehicles for the inauguration ceremony, Toyota, headquartered in Japan, has stated that it does not intend to supply any vehicles for the event.

The proposed tariffs by President Trump on imports from Mexico and Canada pose potential complications for several North American automakers, including Toyota, which produces its Tacoma pickup truck in Mexico. Additionally, the incoming president has articulated plans to reverse a number of initiatives related to electric vehicles and emissions that were championed by Democratic President Joe Biden, according to Reuters.

In addition to the automotive companies, other significant corporations such as Amazon and Meta Platforms, which owns Facebook, have also contributed to the inauguration events.
