According to recent media reports, Taiwan has intervened to stop the transaction between Uber and Delivery Hero's Foodpanda operations within the country. In May, Uber Technologies (UBER) had entered an agreement with Delivery Hero SE to purchase its Foodpanda delivery business in Taiwan for $950 million in cash. This acquisition was projected to be finalized within the first half of 2025.
Foodpanda operates as a delivery platform across various countries in Asia and certain regions in Europe. It maintains a presence in nations such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
