Independent Bank Corp. (IBCP), the parent company of Michigan-based Independent Bank, has announced the appointment of Christopher Michaels as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective January 2.
Michaels, who has been a part of the company for over a decade, most recently held the positions of Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President since January 2020.
William Kessel, President and CEO, remarked, "Chris is a proven leader with an extensive understanding of our business, having successfully driven transformation within our organization. His expertise makes him exceptionally well-suited for this role."
Kessel further expressed his confidence, stating, "I am certain that his appointment will enhance our ability to serve our customers and help us realize our long-term growth aspirations."
By Thursday's market close, IBCP's stock had decreased by 1.32%, settling at $34.37 on the Nasdaq.
