Iceland Jobless Rate Falls To 2.8%

In November, Iceland experienced a decline in its unemployment rate for the second consecutive month, according to data released by Statistics Iceland on Friday. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 2.8 percent from 3.2 percent in October. For perspective, this rate stood at 3.3 percent in November of the previous year.

The count of unemployed individuals decreased to 6,400 in November, down from 7,500 in October. Conversely, the number of employed individuals also saw a decline, dropping to 225,800 from 230,000 in the prior month. As a result, the employment rate was recorded at 77.2 percent, compared to 79.4 percent in October.

When considering unadjusted figures, the unemployment rate in November was 2.4 percent, a decline from 3.0 percent in the previous month.
