Bulgaria experienced a notable increase in retail sales growth for the second consecutive month in November, as reported by the National Statistical Institute on Wednesday.
The data indicated that retail sales, when adjusted for calendar variations, rose by 6.8% year-on-year in November, marking an acceleration from the 5.1% growth observed in October. This represents the most significant increase since July, which also saw a 6.8% rise in sales.
Among the various categories, sales in food, beverages, and tobacco witnessed the highest annual growth, soaring by 11.0%. Sales of non-food items, excluding fuel, also saw a substantial increase of 9.1%. In contrast, the sale of automotive fuel within specialized stores experienced a decline of 7.9%.
On a month-to-month basis, retail turnover maintained a consistent growth rate of 1.3% in November.
