EQT has announced that EQT Transition Infrastructure has entered into an agreement to acquire Scale Microgrids. Scale Microgrids is a vertically integrated company specializing in the development, acquisition, ownership, and operation of microgrids and distributed energy resources. Their products cater to a diverse customer base, including commercial and industrial sectors, EV fleets, data centers, as well as municipal, university, hospital, and agricultural segments, alongside developers and communities. This acquisition comes from Warburg Pincus and current shareholders.
Jan Vesely, Partner and Head of EQT Transition Infrastructure, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "We are excited for Scale Microgrids to become EQT Transition Infrastructure's inaugural investment in North America. We see vast potential to drive Scale's growth forward and position it as a leading entity within the market for vertically integrated energy companies."
