Latvia Trade Gap Narrows In November

Latvia experienced a decline in its foreign trade deficit in November compared to the previous year, primarily due to a sharper decline in imports compared to exports, according to preliminary figures released by the national statistics office on Thursday.

The trade deficit was reduced to EUR 124.9 million in November, a significant decrease from EUR 319.9 million recorded in the same month the previous year. In comparison, October's deficit stood at EUR 291.9 million.

Year over year, exports saw a decline of 3.0 percent, while imports decreased more substantially by 12.5 percent.

On a month-to-month basis, both exports and imports saw declines of 7.9 percent and 15.1 percent, respectively, in November.
