Shoals Technologies Files Addl. Patent Infringement Complaint With ITC Against Voltage

Shoals Technologies Group, Inc. (SHLS), a company specializing in electrical balance of system (EBOS) solutions within the energy transition sector, announced on Friday the initiation of a fresh patent infringement action against Voltage, LLC and an associated international entity. This legal proceeding has been filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).

In this complaint, Shoals has introduced two new patents, identified as 375 and 376, which pertain to its innovative Big Lead Assembly (BLA) solutions. Previously, in 2023, the company filed for infringement of the '153 Patent. Following this, the '375 and '376 Patents were issued, which pertain to an enhanced trunk bus lead assembly designed for solar panel arrays.

Shoals asserts that these patents offer defenses against any alternative designs Voltage might develop to circumvent the existing '153 Patent protections. The objective of the complaint is to block the unauthorized importation of trunk bus lead assemblies that infringe upon Shoals' proprietary BLA solutions.

Shoals is confident regarding the outcome of the pending '153 Patent infringement complaint, with a resolution anticipated from the ITC on January 15.

Brandon Moss, CEO of Shoals Technologies, expressed, "Our commitment to investing in American jobs, boosting domestic manufacturing, and supporting rising energy demands remains steadfast. To fulfill these commitments, it is crucial that we remain vigilant against foreign competition to expedite the reshoring of domestic clean energy production."
