Spain Industrial Output Falls For First Time In 4 Months

Industrial production in Spain experienced its first decline in four months this November, as reported by the statistical office INE on Friday.

The data revealed an adjusted annual decrease of 0.4 percent in industrial production for November, following a 1.5 percent increase in October. This marks the first decline since July and the most significant drop since March 2024.

Analyzing the components of industrial output, capital goods and energy saw a notable decline, with decreases of 2.8 percent and 1.9 percent, respectively. In contrast, consumer goods production rose by 1.1 percent, and intermediate goods output increased by 0.3 percent.

On an unadjusted basis, industrial production registered a 3.4 percent decrease, a reversal from the 6.5 percent growth seen in October.

Comparing month-to-month figures, industrial output fell by 0.8 percent, which contrasts with a 0.5 percent increase recorded in October. This decline represents the first in four months, according to the data provided.
