India's industrial production surged to its highest rate of growth in six months this November, according to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation last Friday.
In November, industrial production experienced a year-over-year increase of 5.2 percent, outpacing the 3.7 percent growth recorded in October and surpassing the anticipated increase of 4.0 percent.
The manufacturing sector contributed significantly to this development, with a notable annual growth of 5.8 percent, compared to a 4.4 percent increase in October. Likewise, mining sector growth accelerated to 1.9 percent from the previous month's 0.9 percent. Electricity production also demonstrated a strong performance with a 4.4 percent rise from the previous year, in contrast to a 2.0 percent increase in October.
For the period spanning April to November, industrial production achieved an annual growth of 4.1 percent, although this marks a deceleration compared to the 6.5 percent growth witnessed during the same timeframe in the previous year.
