Honeywell International Inc. is preparing to undertake a strategic separation following advocacy from activist investor Elliott Investment Management, as reported by Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the situation.
The company intends to divide into two distinct publicly traded entities. One will concentrate on automation technologies, while the other will specialize in aerospace and defense sectors. An official announcement is anticipated to coincide with the release of their fourth-quarter earnings, expected in early February.
Back in December 2024, Honeywell acknowledged it was evaluating various strategic options, including the possible spin-off of its Aerospace division, with the aim of boosting shareholder value and fostering company growth.
