Poland Inflation Revised Lower To 4.7%

Consumer price inflation in Poland remained steady at the year's close, according to the most recent data from Statistics Poland, which corrected initial estimates suggesting a minor acceleration.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a 4.7% year-on-year increase in December, aligning with November's figures. This was a revision from the preliminary estimate of 4.8% released on January 3.

Examining sector-specific data, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew steadily by 4.8%, while housing and utilities costs surged by 10.1%. Conversely, transportation costs saw a decrease of 3.3%.

On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices did not change in December, following a 0.5% increase in November. The initial prediction had suggested a 0.2% rise.

Overall, for 2024, average CPI inflation settled at 3.6%.
