European Economic News Preview: France Business Sentiment Data Due

The economic highlights for Thursday include business sentiment figures from France and the Industrial Trends survey from the UK.

At 2:00 AM Eastern Time, the Turkish Statistical Institute will release the results of its consumer confidence survey. Shortly after, at 2:45 AM ET, France will publish its business sentiment survey. Expectations are for the manufacturing confidence index to show a decrease, moving to 96 in January from 97 in December.

At 4:00 AM ET, Norway's central bank will announce its monetary policy decision, with projections indicating that the bank will maintain its key interest rate at 4.50 percent.

Later, at 6:00 AM ET, the Confederation of British Industry will unveil the Industrial Trends survey results. Analysts anticipate that the order book balance will improve to -35 percent over the three months leading up to January.

Concurrently, Turkey's central bank is expected to issue the results of its monetary policy meeting, with economists predicting a significant interest rate cut of 250 basis points.

Finally, at 10:00 AM ET, the European Commission is slated to release its preliminary consumer confidence survey for the euro area, with the sentiment index expected to edge up to -14.0 in January from -14.5 in December.
