Pacira BioSciences, Inc. (PCRX), a leader in non-opioid pain management and regenerative health solutions, announced on Thursday the appointment of Laura Brege as the new Chair of the Board. With over ten years at Pacira and a robust 30-year background in executive roles at firms such as BridgeBio Pharma, Inc., Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and COR Therapeutics, Inc., Brege brings a wealth of experience to her new position.
The Board also announced the retirement of former Chair Paul J. Hastings and member Andreas Wicki. Concurrently, the Board has restructured its committee assignments, appointing Alethia Young to succeed Brege as Chair of the Audit Committee.
Currently, the Board consists of nine directors, eight of whom are independent, including five new members who have joined since October 2023. During pre-market trading, Pacira BioSciences' stock experienced a 1.81% increase, reaching $26.50 on the Nasdaq.
