Wells Fargo & Co. has announced the forthcoming retirement of Jon Weiss, the Co-CEO of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). Weiss, a veteran of nearly two decades with the company, is stepping down from his Co-CEO role immediately and will officially retire on June 1, 2025. Fernando Rivas, who joined the firm in May 2024 as Co-CEO of CIB, is set to assume the role of sole CEO for Corporate & Investment Banking.
Weiss's tenure at Wells Fargo began in 2005 in the Investment Banking sector. He advanced to Co-Head of the Investment Banking & Capital Markets division in 2008, before taking on the role of President and Head of Wells Fargo Securities in 2014. In 2017, he was appointed as the Head of Wealth & Investment Management, a position he maintained until February 2020, when he transitioned to become CEO of Corporate & Investment Banking.
