Sandoz Group AG, the Swiss generics pharmaceutical leader, announced on Monday that Peter Stenico has been appointed as the new President of Region International and will join the Sandoz Executive Committee. Stenico takes over from Francisco Ballester, who is set to retire on March 1. With a tenure at Sandoz Group beginning in 2002, Stenico recently held the position of Global Platform Head for Biosimilars as of January 2023, where he managed the company’s global biosimilar strategy. Stenico also serves as the Country President for Sandoz Austria.
Previously, Stenico served as the Country Head and General Manager for Sandoz in Germany and was a past President of the German Generics Association, known as Pro Generika.
Richard Saynor, Sandoz's Chief Executive Officer, commented on the appointment, stating, "Similar to Francisco, Peter reflects on a distinguished career spanning many decades within Sandoz, and he will bring this wealth of experience to his new position and the Sandoz Executive Committee."
The company emphasized that since 2019, Ballester has played a pivotal role in fostering business growth and ensuring patient access outside of the North American and European markets.
