RTX Elects President And CEO Christopher Calio As Chairman Of Board

RTX Corporation (RTX) announced on Monday that its Board of Directors has selected President and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Calio, to serve as Chairman of the Board, with his term commencing on April 30, 2025.

This decision comes in the wake of Gregory Hayes, the current Executive Chairman of RTX, notifying the Board of his intention to resign from his position and from the Board altogether before the company's annual meeting in 2025.

Hayes assumed the role of Executive Chairman of the Board in May 2024. Previously, he held the positions of President and CEO of RTX following the merger of Raytheon Co. and United Technologies in 2020, where he also served as Chairman and CEO. As of April 30, 2025, Hayes will transition to the role of Special Advisor to the CEO, continuing in this capacity until January 2, 2026.

Christopher Calio joined RTX's board of directors in 2023 and was appointed President and CEO on May 2, 2024. In his role as President and Chief Operating Officer, he was responsible for leading RTX's three business divisions, alongside key functions such as technology, engineering, enterprise services, digital innovation, operations, quality assurance, supply chain management, and environmental health and safety.

Previously, Calio was President of Pratt & Whitney, where he successfully managed the development and servicing of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units. Since 2005, he has held various leadership positions within the company and has been instrumental in driving significant transformational changes throughout his tenure.
