Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (ERIC) and the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) have announced a significant partnership to deploy a private LTE network across 68 counties in Texas. This multi-year agreement aims to modernize the region's power grid, provide low-latency communications, and enhance security measures against emerging threats.
Ericsson will contribute to this project by providing a 5G-ready, mission-critical private LTE network, which includes advanced technologies such as a dual-mode 5G Core, a radio access network, and comprehensive network management solutions. This network aims to improve LCRA's operational controls while also supporting essential services for municipalities, schools, transit systems, and government entities throughout the area.
The project is set to commence in the first quarter of 2025, reinforcing Ericsson's dedication to vital infrastructure development and LCRA's commitment to delivering reliable utility services across Texas.
As of now, ERIC is trading at $7.45 on the Nasdaq, reflecting a minor increase of 0.20 percent or $0.01.
