For the week ending March 14, 2025, the rate increased to 6.72%, marking the first incline in nine weeks, up from 6.67% the previous week, and compares to a rate of 6.97% a year prior. Similarly, the interest rate for jumbo loans—which apply to 30-year mortgages for properties sold over $806,500—rose to 6.78%, up from 6.68% the previous week. For 30-year mortgages insured by the Federal Housing Administration, the average rate ascended to 6.4%, from 6.34% across the same timeframe.
