In the fourth quarter of 2024, Hungary’s current account registered a surplus of €0.11 billion, a notable turnaround from the €0.49 billion deficit observed in the equivalent period the previous year. This positive shift was predominantly driven by an increase in the services surplus, which escalated to €2.38 billion from €2.27 billion in Q4 2023. Additionally, there was a reduction in the primary and secondary income deficits, which decreased to €1.47 billion and €0.36 billion, respectively, from €1.84 billion and €0.59 billion. However, on the downside, the goods deficit expanded to €0.45 billion from the prior €0.33 billion.
