Belgium's annual inflation rate declined to 2.91% in March 2025 from 3.55% in February, reaching its lowest point since January 2024. The deceleration in price growth was observed in sectors such as housing and utilities (7.59% compared to 8.29% in February), healthcare (1.72% down from 1.99%), recreation and culture (2.34% as opposed to 2.8%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.72% relative to 3.81%). Conversely, a reduction in prices was noted for transport (-0.14% compared to an increase of 1.89%), clothing and footwear (-3.67% versus -0.29%), and communication (-0.94% versus -0.73%). However, costs for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose to 2.52% from 2.44%, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco saw an increase of 8.02% from the previous 7.03%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices decreased by 0.07% in March, overturning a 0.2% increase recorded in February.
