Hungary Producer Inflation Slows in February

In February 2025, Hungary's annual producer inflation decelerated to 8.2%, down from 9.1% the previous month. This indicates the ninth straight month of increasing producer prices, albeit at a reduced rate. The slowdown was observed across various sectors, with notable easing in mining and quarrying (10.9% compared to 13% in January) and manufacturing (4.8% as opposed to 7.3%). Furthermore, a deceleration was evident in the prices of both domestic output (5.4%, down from 6.1%) and non-domestic output (9.6% versus 10.6%). In contrast, costs escalated further in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning, registering an increase to 15.3% from 10.8%. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices saw a decrease of 0.4% in February, overturning the 0.4% rise experienced in January.
