In March 2025, Kazakhstan experienced a rise in its annual inflation rate, climbing to 10% from 9.4% in February. This increase represents the highest inflation rate since November 2023. The surge was primarily fueled by heightened prices in food products, which rose to 7.6% from 6.5% the previous month, as well as in non-food items, which saw an increase to 9.1% from 8.7%. Additionally, paid services exhibited a slight uptick, reaching 14.3% from 14.1%. On a month-to-month comparison, consumer prices grew by 1.3%, slightly moderating from a previous significant rise of 1.5%, which was the most considerable gain in over two years.
