In February 2025, the Imacec economic activity index in Chile experienced a 0.1% decline compared to the same period the previous year. This result was contrary to market expectations, which had anticipated a 0.8% increase. The decline follows a revised upward growth of 2.3% in the previous month. This downturn marks the first decrease in economic activity since June of the previous year when there was a 0.7% drop. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, Chile's economic activity saw a contraction of 0.5%.
