In March 2025, wholesale prices in Pakistan experienced a year-on-year decline of 1.6%, deepening from a 0.7% decrease observed in February. This represents the second consecutive month of declining wholesale prices, as deflation intensified across sectors such as agriculture, forestry, and fishery, with a decrease of 6.3% compared to 5.4% in the prior month. Similarly, the ores/minerals, electricity, gas, and water sector saw a drop of 8.8% from 5%, and other transportable goods decreased by 3.2% compared to the previous 2.2%. Additionally, price growth slowed for metal products, machinery, and equipment, easing to 1.9% from 2.2%. Conversely, prices for food, beverages, tobacco, textiles, and leather products increased, accelerating to 7% from 6.4%. On a month-to-month basis, wholesale prices saw a modest rise of 0.3%.
