In February 2025, Canada's total imports ascended by 0.8% on a monthly basis, reaching an all-time high of CAD 71.6 billion. This marks the fifth consecutive month of growth following a 2.4% increase in January. The main factors driving this rise were a 5.8% increase in motor vehicles and parts, a 3.1% uptick in industrial machinery, equipment, and parts, a 5.2% surge in energy products, and a 3.5% growth in metal and non-metallic mineral products. Meanwhile, imports from the United States grew by 2.5% in February, contrasting with a 2.0% decline in imports from countries outside of the United States.
