In March 2025, Estonia's annual inflation rate eased to 4.4%, down from the previous month's nineteen-month peak of 5.3%. This deceleration was primarily attributed to moderated price increases in housing and utilities, which fell to 3.9% from February's 8%. Similarly, the transport sector saw a reduction, with prices growing at 6.3% compared to 8% previously, and communication costs decreased markedly to 1.2% from 7.1%. Conversely, prices continued to fall in the area of clothing and footwear, declining further to -3.4% from -1.3%. However, inflation pressures persisted in food and non-alcoholic beverages, which rose to 6.7% from 5.1%, household goods increased to 2.8% from 2%, and the sector comprising hotels, cafes, and restaurants experienced a rise to 5.4% from 4.5%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices decreased by 0.5% in March, marking the first decline in four months, following a 1.4% increase in the prior period.
