In March 2025, Mexico witnessed a robust 12.1% year-on-year increase in car production, reaching a notable total of 338,669 units—the highest figure in five months. This surge follows a slight dip of 0.8% in February. Noteworthy growth emerged among key manufacturers, with Toyota boosting production by 68.9% to 27,279 units, Ford Motor increasing by 46.0% to 35,840 units, KIA climbing by 15.5% to 35,840 units, and General Motors rising by 15.9% to 80,217 units. Conversely, declines were observed at Nissan, with production down 0.9% to 50,376 units, Volkswagen dropping 27.6% to 23,351 units, and Mercedes Benz decreasing by 6.5% to 4,966 units. Over the first quarter of 2025, the cumulative car production in Mexico showed a 4.8% increase, amounting to 973,485 units.
