Cyprus Trade Deficit Narrows in February

According to preliminary estimates, Cyprus experienced a reduction in its trade deficit, which dropped to EUR 550.8 million in February 2025, compared to EUR 589.6 million in the same month of the previous year. Exports witnessed a significant surge of 73.8% year-over-year, reaching EUR 476.4 million. This growth was largely driven by an impressive increase in shipments to non-EU countries, which soared by 128.8%. Additionally, there was a marginal rise in exports to EU member states, with a growth rate of 0.1%. On the other hand, imports increased at a much more moderate rate of 18.9%, totaling EUR 1,027.2 million. This rise in imports was largely due to an upturn in goods arriving from non-EU countries, which went up by 57%, while imports from EU member states experienced a decline of 1%.
