In March 2025, China's consumer prices experienced a year-on-year decline of 0.1%, contrary to market expectations of a 0.1% increase. This marks the second consecutive month of decline. However, the decrease was less pronounced than February's 0.7% drop, attributed to a smaller reduction in food prices and a slight increase in non-food inflation. On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell by 0.4%, an acceleration from a 0.2% decrease in February, continuing the two-month downward trend.
