Czech Republic Inflation Rate Unchanged in March

In March 2025, the Czech Republic's annual inflation rate remained stable at 2.7%, consistent with February's five-month low, adhering to both preliminary assessments and market predictions. Noticeable price increases primarily occurred in the food and non-alcoholic beverages sector, which surged to a nineteen-month peak of 6.1%, up from 4.4% the previous month. Furthermore, costs persisted in their upward trend for housing and utilities (1.5% compared to 1.3%), as well as recreation and culture (3.1% compared to 2.9%). Conversely, prices experienced a decrease in the clothing and footwear sector (-2.2% compared to -1.9%) and the transport sector (-1.9% compared to 0.7%). A deceleration was also observed in furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance (1.4% compared to 1.7%), alongside healthcare costs (3.5% compared to 4.5%). On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices witnessed a slight increase of 0.1% in March, following a 0.2% rise in the preceding period.
