In March 2025, Switzerland experienced a year-on-year decline of 0.1% in producer and import prices, maintaining the same rate as the prior month. This marked the 23rd consecutive occurrence of producer price deflation, although it remained the mildest decline observed in this period. The drop was primarily fueled by further reductions in import costs, which fell by 0.9% compared to a 0.8% decrease in January, even as producer prices continued to rise, moving up by 0.3% from 0.2%. On a month-to-month basis, both producer and import prices increased slightly by 0.1% in March, slightly below expectations of a 0.2% rise and a deceleration from the 0.3% growth seen in the previous period. This increase was attributed to higher food product costs, while the prices of petroleum products saw a reduction.
