Kyrgyzstan Inflation Rate Slows in March

In March 2025, Kyrgyzstan experienced a deceleration in its annual inflation rate, which settled at 6.9% compared to the fourteen-month peak of 7% recorded in February. Notable price reductions were observed in categories such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which decreased to 10% from 11.5%, clothing and footwear, which dipped to 3.3% from 3.5%, and miscellaneous goods and services, falling to 2.6% from 3.8%. Conversely, certain sectors experienced a rise in inflation; housing and utilities climbed to 9.7% from 8.9%, transport increased to 3.4% from 2.9%, and education saw a slight upturn to 25% from 24.8%. On a monthly comparison, consumer prices saw a 0.2% increase in March, following a 1% rise in the previous month.
