In March 2025, Oman experienced a reduction in its annual inflation rate to 0.6%, down from February's 1%. This represents the lowest rate since November, primarily due to a downturn in food and non-alcoholic beverage prices, which decreased by 0.7% compared to a previous increase of 0.1% in February. Additionally, the rate of increase in transport prices slowed to 1.7% from 3.4%. Other sectors, such as recreation and culture, restaurants and hotels, and various personal goods and services, also experienced slight decreases, with reductions to 0.3%, 0.7%, and 6.1% from 0.4%, 0.8%, and 6.3% respectively. In contrast, prices across categories including housing and utilities, tobacco, clothing and footwear, health, education, and communication remained stable. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices decreased by 0.4%, consistent with the previous month's rate.
