In April 2025, Denmark's consumer confidence index fell to -17.0 from -15.5 in March, marking its lowest point since April 2023. This decline was primarily attributed to worsening perceptions of households' financial conditions compared to the previous year (-10.1 compared to -8.0) and diminished expectations for their financial prospects over the next twelve months (-6.4 compared to -1.9). Additionally, there was increased pessimism about the present economic situation (-23.0 compared to -21.6) and the general economic outlook for the coming year (-31.7 compared to -30.8). However, outside the confidence index, there was a slight improvement, as there were fewer concerns about rising unemployment (16.0 compared to 17.1), and inflation expectations eased, with a smaller percentage of consumers foreseeing price hikes in the upcoming year (40.8 compared to 42.8).
