In February 2025, Moldova experienced a 1.2% increase in industrial production compared to the same month the previous year. This recovery follows a 2.5% decline in January and represents the first positive growth in industrial activity since August 2024. The increase was primarily driven by a robust rebound in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector, which saw an 18.1% rise after experiencing a 9.0% decrease in the previous month. Conversely, the manufacturing sector's output fell significantly by 7.5% following a modest increase of 1.5%, and growth in the mining and quarrying sector slowed considerably, recording a 4.8% rise compared to an impressive 141.1% in January. On a month-on-month basis, overall industrial production rose by 14.5%, recovering from a 20.8% decline in the previous period.
