FX.co ★ Norway Jobless Rate Highest in 14 Months

Norway experienced a rise in its seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, which reached 4.4% in March 2025. This marks an increase from the revised figure of 4.0% recorded in February and represents the highest rate since January 2024. The number of unemployed individuals rose by 11,000 compared to the previous month, reaching a total of 133,000. Conversely, the employment rate saw a decline, dropping to 69.2% in March, down from 69.8% in February. This decrease reflects a reduction of 24,000 employed persons, bringing the total number of employed individuals to 2.882 million. Additionally, the labor force participation rate fell slightly to 72.4% from 72.7% in February. Furthermore, the youth unemployment rate, indicating job-seekers aged 15 to 24, increased from 12.6% to 13.9% over the same period.
