This marks the strongest performance since December 2024, with a notable acceleration in durable goods sales, which climbed to 5.7% from February's 4.3%. However, the growth in consumable goods sales was more modest, increasing by 1.4% compared to the previous 1.6%. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales saw a slight uptick of 0.3%, an increase from February's 0.1%.
