Belgium’s Producer Inflation Eases in March

In March 2025, Belgium experienced a 2.2% year-on-year increase in producer prices, marking the slowest growth rate in three months. This represents a decrease from the 3.2% rise observed in February. The reduced pace of price escalation can be attributed primarily to a drop in producer prices for durable consumer goods, which fell by 0.45% compared to a 0.44% rise in February. There was also a noticeable deceleration in price increases for non-durable consumer goods, which grew by 2.26% after a previous 3.26% increase, energy prices, which went up by 2.13% compared to 4.41%, and intermediate goods, which increased by 1.99% following a 2.93% rise. On a month-over-month basis, producer prices declined by 0.7% in March, contrasting with the 0.2% increase recorded in the previous month.
