In March 2025, Uruguay experienced a trade deficit of $313.51 million, an increase from the $198.77 million deficit recorded in the same month of the previous year. This marks the seventh consecutive month of trade deficits for the country. Despite the overall deficit, exports rose by 5.1% compared to the previous year, reaching $710.81 million. This growth was largely fueled by a substantial 20.3% increase in manufactured goods. However, there was a significant decline in primary goods, which fell by 26.2%, and utilities, which plummeted by 80.4%. On the import side, there was a 13.7% increase, totaling $1,024.32 million. Within this, intermediate goods climbed by 10.2%, consumer goods advanced by 21.4%, and capital goods saw a 14.9% rise.
