In April 2025, Sweden's Swedbank Manufacturing PMI increased to 54.2, up from 53.6 in March. This marks the ninth consecutive month the index has indicated growth, reaching its highest level since May 2022. The uptick was primarily fueled by a steady rise in new orders, which improved to 55.8 from 53.9 in March, alongside better delivery times which rose to 50.4 from 49.2. On the pricing side, the index for suppliers’ raw material and input costs dropped to a six-month low of 50.9, down from 55.6 the previous month. This decrease was largely attributed to falling global commodity prices and a stronger krona. Nonetheless, there was a slight downward pressure on the overall PMI from declines in production, which slipped to 58.0 from 59.2, employment, which edged down to 52.9 from 53.0, and inventory levels, which decreased marginally to 51.6 from 51.8.
