In April 2025, Norway's DNB Manufacturing PMI declined to 46.1, down from a revised figure of 50.1 in March. This represents the first contraction since June 2024 and the most significant decline since July 2020. The downturn is attributed to a decrease in production, which fell to 46.5 from 50.8 in March. Moreover, there was a noticeable slowdown in new orders, dropping to 38.2 from 47.4, and employment figures eased to 53.0 from 54.2. Delivery times lengthened, rising to 52.6 from 50.6, while inventory levels climbed to 54.9 from 52.6. Additionally, the index for input prices decreased by 3.6 points, settling at 57.3 in April.
