Georgia Inflation Rate Edges Down to 3.4%

In April 2025, Georgia experienced a slight decrease in its annual inflation rate, which dropped to 3.4% from the 3.5% recorded in March. Notably, price increases slowed for categories such as clothing and footwear, which saw an increase of only 0.3% compared to 1.5% in the previous month. Similarly, restaurants and hotels witnessed price growth of 6.1%, down from 6.6%, while the rise in prices for miscellaneous goods and services eased to 6.1% from 6.3%. Conversely, there was a continued decline in costs for furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance, which fell by 2.7% following a 2.1% drop, and for transport, which decreased by 2.2% following a 0.5% decline. However, inflation ticked up for food and non-alcoholic beverages, rising to 7% from 6.6%, and for health services, increasing to 9.2% from 8.8%. Meanwhile, inflation for housing and utilities remained constant at 1.5%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.2% in April, following a 1.1% rise in March.
