In March 2025, Saudi Arabia's industrial production witnessed a 2.0% year-on-year growth, marking a notable improvement from the 0.3% increase observed in the prior month, following an upward revision. This represents the most significant elevation in industrial output since December of the previous year, primarily driven by a 5.1% boost in manufacturing. The manufacturing surge was largely attributed to a considerable rise in the production of chemicals and chemical products (14.3%) and food products (6.9%). Additionally, there was a remarkable 15.0% growth in the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation sectors. Conversely, although still declining, mining and quarrying activity experienced a less severe contraction of 0.2% compared to February's 0.7% reduction, as Saudi Arabia's oil production tapered slightly from 8.97 million barrels per day in March 2024 to 8.96 million. In contrast, the sectors involved in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply experienced a 0.9% decline. On a month-to-month basis, industrial output rose by 1.1%, subsequent to a revised 1.7% increase in February.
