In April 2025, Mexico experienced a 10.9% decrease in car exports compared to the same month the previous year, with total exports reaching 256,953 units. This decline follows a 3.8% increase in the prior month. Among the major car exporters, Mazda experienced the steepest drop at 60.9%, exporting only 5,226 units. Volkswagen's exports fell by 44.4% to 19,130 units, while Mercedes-Benz registered a 43.9% decline to 4,292 units. Stellantis, which includes Chrysler and Fiat, saw a 36.9% decrease, exporting 16,413 units. Audi's exports dropped by 33.7% to 8,567 units, and BMW recorded a 32.6% fall, with 5,496 units exported. Of the twelve brands surveyed, only Toyota, General Motors, and Ford Motor bucked the trend, with Toyota increasing its exports by 36.4% to 28,542 units, General Motors by 8.8% to 76,443 units, and Ford by 1% to 31,914 units. Year-to-date figures indicate a 7.3% reduction in car exports since January.
