Bulgaria Consumer Morale Improves in Q2

Bulgaria's consumer confidence indicator rose to -16.4 in the second quarter of 2025, marking an improvement from the previous quarter's over one-year low of -19.5. Consumers expressed less pessimism about Bulgaria's economic outlook over the coming year, with expectations shifting from -26.3 to -21, and also reported a more optimistic view of their own household finances, improving from -12.8 to -7.7. The propensity to save appeared more favorable a year from now, with the assessment rising to -48 from -50.8. However, there was increased reluctance toward making significant purchases of durable goods, with the indicator sliding to -21.5 from -20.6. Concerns about unemployment in the next twelve months heightened slightly, rising to 19.5 from 18. Finally, apprehensions regarding inflation eased, with the index decreasing to 18.8 from 25.7.
