In April 2025, Lithuania's annual inflation rate held steady at 4.1%, consistent with the previous month and marking the highest rate since August 2023. There was an accelerated rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, increasing to 5.0% from March’s 4.5%. Likewise, housing and utilities saw a notable rise, jumping to 4.8% from 3.4%, while recreation and culture prices climbed to 5.1% from 4.4%. The cost of furnishings, household equipment, and routine home maintenance also saw an uptick from 0.8% to 1.1%. Meanwhile, deflation in clothing and footwear eased, with prices declining by 0.6%, compared to a 0.9% drop previously. Conversely, there was a slowdown in price increases for transport, which decreased to 0.2% from 1.6%; miscellaneous goods and services softened to 3.1% from 4.7%; communication eased to 2.8% from 3.6%; and health sector prices moderated to 5.6% from 5.0%. Additionally, the price increase for alcoholic beverages and tobacco decreased slightly to 8.3% from 8.7%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices rose by 0.1%, a reduction from the 0.4% increase observed in March.
