In March 2025, Malaysia's unemployment rate decreased to 3.1%, down from 3.3% in the same month the previous year. This marks the fourth consecutive month the rate has remained consistent at its lowest point since May 2015. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 4.9% year-over-year, reaching a five-year low of 529,600. Concurrently, employment saw a growth of 3.0%, totaling 16.78 million individuals in work. Additionally, the labor force participation rate achieved a record high of 70.7%, rising from 70.5% recorded in the same month last year.
