In April 2025, Cyprus experienced a notable decrease in its annual inflation rate, reaching 0.2% — the lowest it has been in four years, a significant drop from 1.6% in March. The primary contributors to this decline were substantial price reductions in the transport sector, with prices falling by 3.6% as compared to a 1.2% increase in March, and in housing and utilities, which saw a decrease of 1.4% compared to a 4.2% rise previously. In contrast, there was an acceleration in price increases for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which rose by 2.6% compared to 2.1% in March. Meanwhile, the decrease in clothing and footwear prices slowed, posting a drop of 7.1% compared to a 7.8% decline in March. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices increased by 0.1% in April, maintaining the same rate as observed in the previous month.
