Hong Kong Foreign Reserves Hit Lowest Since 2017

Hong Kong's foreign exchange reserves decreased to $408.7 billion in April, the lowest since July 2017, down from $412.5 billion in March. This amount is more than five times the currency in circulation, or roughly 36% of Hong Kong's M3 money supply. When factoring in unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the total foreign currency reserve assets stood at $407.9 billion.
